Carlos Silva is the GIS Specialist at the Vancouver Airport Authority, with over 20 years of experience in the geospatial field with YVR, City of Surrey, City of Richmond, and UBC. The YVR’s geospatial program powers a number of data initiatives and visualization products in various departments, from YVR’s Digital Twin program, wildlife data management, leasing & building occupancy, infrastructure asset management, and aerial and LiDAR data collection. When not slinging data around and making maps & apps, he can be found coaching soccer and playing rec hockey, and wondering if there’s a cheap way to use data analytics to master game tactics in grassroots soccer.
