Sarah Marshall is the Director of Data & Information Governance for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), a social purpose company that proudly conducts and manages lottery, casinos, sports-betting and online gambling, generating income that is delivered back to the province to benefit British Columbians. Most recently, she oversaw the delivery of a bold new data vision and strategy for BCLC, that was developed in close collaboration with operational business unit stakeholders.
Sarah has worked in areas ranging from front-line customer-facing positions, back-office operations and within information technology across several industries. This diverse experience has equipped her with a holistic perspective that she brings to her current work in data governance. Her passion is working with executives and business leaders to help organizations make the fundamental shift towards managing data as a strategic enterprise asset and unlock the full potential of their data to “compete to win” in rapidly-evolving business environments. With a focus on increasing organizational data literacy and building a robust enterprise data culture, Sarah is driven by helping data stakeholders read, work with, interpret, analyze and argue with data, in order to derive meaningful insights and make well-informed business decisions.
In her spare time Sarah enjoys cooking, exercising on her Peloton bike and cheering on the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Raptors and the Seattle Seahawks.
