Casper Shyr

Casper Shyr is the Senior Director of The Centre for Advanced Analytics, Data Science, and Innovation at Fraser Health Authority, where he brings over 15 years of leadership at the intersection of healthcare operations and advanced data science. Casper holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of British Columbia, with a strong educational foundation in Computer Science and Biology. He is also certified in PROSCI Change Management and holds a PMP certification. Known as an educator, strategic leader, and researcher, Casper specializes in the development and adoption of machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions in healthcare, with a proven track record of leading complex, transformative initiatives within the industry.

At Fraser Health, Casper leads the enterprise AI strategy across clinical and operational areas, enhancing healthcare delivery, optimizing patient access and flow, and elevating care quality. He heads an interdisciplinary team of data scientists and analytics professionals, overseeing the development of more than 40 AI solutions that support clinical programs. His team’s work focuses on predictive and prescriptive modeling, strategic data modernization, and collaborative partnerships with healthcare and business leaders. Through real-time analytics, Casper’s efforts enable systemic improvements and position Fraser Health as a leader in data-driven healthcare innovation.
