CASE STUDY: DATA FOUNDATION
Building the Backbone: How E-Comm 9-1-1 Stood Up a Data and Analytics Function to Transform Emergency Response in B.C.
In a mission-critical environment like emergency communications, the difference between anecdote and analytics can be the difference between delay and response. In 2018, E-Comm 9-1-1 faced mounting pressure: declining service levels, unstructured data, and no dedicated analytics function to support operational strategy. Today, the organization is meeting its service targets across the board — thanks to the intentional buildout of a robust data and analytics department. Leave with a blueprint to:
- Build a board-approved business case for analytics as part of a broader transformation plan.
- Turn raw operational data into insights on staffing, seasonality, and call volume drivers.
- Develop predictive models to align workforce resources with unpredictable service demand.
- Support digital transformation initiatives including Next-Generation 9-1-1.
- Enable leaders to make evidence-based decisions under high-stakes conditions.
Saved seconds — and lives — by powering better public safety through predictive analytics.
